The Pittsburgh Steelers announced that head coach Mike Tomlin has agreed to a three-year contract extension through the 2027 season.
After the announcement of his extension, a photo of Tomlin signing his first contract 17 years ago went viral.

The original photo, taken in 2007, is a good example of just how long Tomlin has been with Pittsburgh. If the next three years go well, he could continue his time with the Steelers.
Tomlin became the NFL's longest-tenured head coach after Bill Belichick ended his time with the New England Patriots following the end of the 2023 season. He was with the team from 2000 to 2023.
Since Tomlin took over for the Steelers in 2007, he has missed the playoffs just six times and reached the Super Bowl twice, winning it in just his second season in 2008.
But Pittsburgh has not had as much postseason success in recent years, failing to make it out of the Wild Card Round three times since 2020 and missing the playoffs three times entirely since 2018.
The Steelers are coming off a 10-7 season in which they lost their wild-card matchup to the Buffalo Bills.
With Tomlin now under contract for the next four seasons, he can shift his focus to the 2024 season.
